Reading Activities
SIGHT WORD ACTIVITES =
- Play "Sight Word Zap!" See math section for directions to play Zap! and adjust for sight words.
- Make cards of the sight words your child is working on and play "Go Fish" of the "Memory Game."
- Have your child write out each sight word on a strip of paper. Cut the words into individual letters and mix them up. Your child can put them back in order and spell the word.
- Grab a book that your child is familiar with and hunt for each sight word or use a magazine/newspaper article and circle or highlight sight words.
- Play "My Pile, Your Pile." See math section for directions and adjust for sight words.
- Put the sight words in ABC order.
- Write someone a letter or card. Try to use the sight words in it.
